Lo Schermo dell’Arte Film Festival has calculated greenhouse gas emissions arising from the 2011 edition, and has taken measures to offset them and be CO2 Neutral. The emissions will be compensated through a reforestation project in the Mbam Kim district of Cameroon. The initiative has been developed in cooperation with Treedom, an Italian company focused on carbon-emission calculations and measures to offset greenhouse gas pollution.
The “Lo schermo dell’Arte Film Festival Forest” now has eleven new trees and corn fields have been planted around them to help ensure a food supply for the local population.
