Schermo dell'Arte - Archivio Film
Grottaglie is a small Apulian town famous for its ceramic craftsmanship. Angelo Milano, creator of the FAME project described in the film, defines the village as a true "cultural desert". Little or nothing happens there. The initiatives promoted by the local government are complete failures. To improve this situation, similar to so many others in the Italian provinces, Milan invites a host of street artists from all over the world. Blue, Momo, Ericailcane, Conor Harrington, Escif, and many other artists invade the town. Their works, often provocative, redesign the town’s geography and give it a new identity. Born in 2008, the FAME project - self-financed and anarchist, as street art demands - quickly became one of the most important street art festivals on an international level. After five intense editions, Angelo decided to interrupt it when the local government, no longer able to ignore the festival’s success, tried to co-opt it. The festival no longer exists, but what remains in this film testimonial is striking.
The film part of Biografilm Art, Biografilm Festival - International Celebration of Lives 2017, will be distributed by I Wonder Pictures
