Working with art involves the creative process and the dedication required to finish pieces. But it also means accepting new challenges and the risk of failure.
Some well-known contemporary artists, including Lawrence Weiner, Esther Ferrer, Bridget Polk, Liam Gillick and John Armleder, talk about the role of art and artistic creation. Filmed in their studios, their words shake conventions. There’s no need to have any illusions about understanding modern art in order to appreciate and be inspired by it. The artists talk unambiguously about doubt, compromise and the difficult moments of their careers.
Benoît Rossel produces a portrait of a mysterious job, seen as sacred by some, despised and considered pretentious by others. A vivid and engaging allegory of the figure of the artist in contemporary society.
