Francesca Woodman (Denver, 1958- New York, 1981) is considered one of the most intense voices on the contemporary photography scene. The film, which was awarded Best New York Documentary at the Tribeca Film Festival, revolves around the work and personality of the young artist, who died tragically young at 22, and the story of her artistic family. Filmed between the United States and Tuscany, where the Woodmans have occasionally lived and worked since the late 60s, The Woodmans links film clips, black-and-white photos and excerpts from Francesca’s diary, with anecdotes and memories from her mother Betty, father George and brother Charles.
