Jeg er enorme jævler I / Jeg er enorme jævler II is a film in two chapters, presented together for the first time at this exhibition. Through a frantic collage of pop images, video clips, texts, 3D animation and videos found online, Fassone draws a ruthless portrait of the post-Internet aesthetic and its stereotypes. The film becomes a metaphor for a society often unable to express its deepest feelings except through the mediation, and often the anonymity, of a social network or an online chat room. The artist himself describes this process of bulimic appropriation of images as a catharsis: an extremely personal method to free and express emotions, from love to depression, which he would otherwise not be able to share. The work also includes a performative part in which the artist gives a lip-synced live performance of the schizophrenic soundtrack of the film, which goes within seconds from Black Metal to Bon Jovi classics.
