A tragic news event, the death of a woman from London's high society from a drug overdose, is the starting point for the video For Eva Rising by Callum Hill, in which several layers of text and images overlap.

Callum Hill (1987) is a British/ American artist Filmmaker graduated from the Royal College of Art in MA Sculpture – Moving Image in 2016 and has a BA in Fine Art from Goldsmiths College, London 2009. Through methodologies of pattern recognition and an interest in the effects of capitalism on the modern day psyche, her films map multiple connections and intensities, all the time slipping between different time frames, characters and narratives. Her work has most recently been screened and exhibited at LUX, London Constructs 2016, Your island, your mattress Solo Show, Mindscape Embassy, Berlin, curated by Joseph Constable 2016, Aesthetica Film Festival 2016 & 2015, Moscow Experimental Film Festival 2016, London Short Film Festival 2016, Gas Works London, 2016, The Show Room, London 2015 Now We Can Go in conjunction with the ICA, Le Nemisache, artist residency, Napoli Italy Arts Council funded 2015, Passing Glitches Peckham Plex, 2015. She has been awarded with an Arts Council England grant (2014) and was part of the BFI’s Experimenta Speed Pitch (2016).
