Premiered at the Cannes Directors’ Fortnight and Shortlisted for the 2026 César Award for Best Documentary Short Film, +10k —shot on 16mm—explores the production of dreams in the age of digital capitalism. It is a portrait of the illusions of a young Catalan man, 21-year-old Pol, who lives with his grandmother and dreams of moving to Miami and earning 10,000 euros a month. He attends self-development events, follows online coaches, and invests in cryptocurrency. But he doesn’t know when he’ll reach his goal of becoming the best version of himself. The only thing he’s sure of is that one day, he will get there. Winner of the 2024 VISIO Production Fund, Hernández López explores the mechanisms of desire formation in the context of contemporary capitalism particularly within a generation that has been dispossessed of its own desires and the role that digital networks play in shaping shared dreams: who decides today what constitutes a desirable life?
