Teresa Cos (1982, Italy/Great Britain) focuses her research on the analysis of the human condition, understood as an eternal negotiation between individual subjectivity and global society—between what one is at birth and what one becomes through travel.
Through images, video, sound and music, diagrams, and data, she reveals a paradoxical dynamic of stagnation (loop), caused by the “always different, always the same” repetition of daily rituals and the hypnotic reiteration of socio-political ideals.
Her works have been presented and will soon be exhibited in contexts such as the 14th International Architecture Exhibition in Venice, Drodesera XXXVI, Marres House of Contemporary Culture in Maastricht, Metropolitan Arts Center Belfast, and Careof in Milan.
Cos has also participated in the Jan Van Eyck Academie program and will soon begin her residency at WIELS Center for Contemporary Art in Brussels.
