Created entirely from footage filmed by the students of the third-year classes of I.C. Pirandello, L’isolotto che non c’è 3 is a collective narrative of emotions, fears, and moments of happiness. Developed during the final days of lower secondary school, between everyday life in the neighbourhood and reflection sessions guided by artists Roberto Fassone and Giacomo Raffaelli, the film offers a sincere perspective from the threshold of a transition: between the end of one chapter and a future still waiting to be discovered.
The film is part of Oltre lo schermo – III edition, a project by Lo schermo dell’arte carried out within the framework of the National Plan for Cinema and Images for Schools, promoted by the Italian Ministry of Culture (MiC) and the Ministry of Education and Merit (MIM), in collaboration with Fondazione CR Firenze.
Roberto Fassone (Savigliano, 1986) is a visual artist based in Florence. His practice explores the strangeness of existence. He has exhibited and performed at numerous Italian and international institutions and festivals, including MAXXI L’Aquila, Ars Electronica, Visions du Réel, MAMbo, and Lo schermo dell’arte. He frequently collaborates with other artists and founded the independent publishing house Roi de Coupe.

Giacomo Raffaelli (Rovereto, 1988) is an artist and educator with a background in visual arts and political science. He has presented his work at festivals and institutions including MART, Palazzo Grassi, South London Gallery, and VISIO. He collaborates with scientific research centres and has been teaching at Istituto Marangoni Firenze since 2018. His work in education focuses on the intersection of visual arts and the environmental humanities.
