At 12 years old, Mary is a determined and curious teenager. She spends her days exploring the seashore in search of fossils, strange stones from another time. She is convinced that if she can uncover the secret of a mysterious sketch left by her father as her only inheritance, she will be able to lift her family out of poverty. What she discovers will make Mary the first paleontologist of the modern era.
Marcel Barelli is a Swiss director and animator, born in Lodrino (Ticino), who trained at the Haute École d’Art et de Design (HEAD) in Geneva, where he studied film and animation. Growing up with a strong passion for nature and animals, he has devoted much of his career to animated films that explore the relationship between humans, the environment, and living creatures.
