Original Format: video 4K HD

In one of the suburbs of Hangzhou, China, there is a replica of Paris, conceived as a utopian and postmodern architectural project. After learning about it, the artist decided to live for a week in this ghost city, located more than 11,000 km from the French capital. The footage, captured by a drone in reference to surveillance and control devices, explores the architectural, physical, and psychological boundaries of this place.
Vincent Ceraudo (1986, Italia, Francia / Olanda) in his works calls into question the perception and the constructs of rationalism, culture, and capitalism. Through various recordings and images, videos, films, photographies, writings, and installations, he tries to capture what might exist outside perception. He studied at the Villa Arson in Nice, and graduated at Le Fresnoy – Studio national des arts contemporains. He is a fellow of the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, and an artist in residence at De Ateliers (2016-2018), Amsterdam. His work has been screened and exhibited at Fondazione Antonio Ratti, Italy (2018); at De Ateliers, in Amsterdam (2018); at La Station – Gare des Mines in Paris (2018); at the Faculty of Science in Torino with the Institute of Things to Come and Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo (2017); at the Maison Européenne de la Photographie in Paris (2017); at the Art Center of the Villa Arson in Nice (2017); at the Centre Pompidou in Paris (2017); at the Skoweghan program space in New York.
