Louise Hervé & Chloé Maillet (1981, France) founded I.I.I.I. (International Institute for Important Items) in 2001, through which they produce performances, genre films, and installations.
Their solo exhibitions have been hosted by institutions such as Kunsthal Aarhus (DK), Passerelle (Brest), Contemporary Art Gallery (Vancouver), Synagogue de Delme (F), FRAC Champagne-Ardenne, Kunstverein Braunschweig (D), and Kunsthaus Glarus (CH).
Recent exhibitions include The Blue-Grey Wall at The Physics Room (NZ), Bonne chances pour vos tentatives… at CRAC Alsace (F), The Other Sight at CAC Vilnius, Liverpool Biennial, and Test Run at Oxford Modern Art.
Over the past three years, they have created performances for Artissima 2014—winning first prize—the Biennale de Lyon, Dallas Contemporary, FIAC (Paris), Whitechapel Gallery (London), LAM (Lille), and Musée Picasso (Paris).
Their first publication, Attraction étrange (2013), was published by JRP, while their second, Spectacles without Objects, was released by Kunsthal Aarhus/Pork Salad Press in 2016.
They are represented by the Marcelle Alix gallery in Paris.
