From June 19 to July 7, 2025, the 15th edition of Notti di Mezza Estate returns, the screening series dedicated to artists’ films and documentaries on contemporary art, presented by Lo schermo dell’arte in the extraordinary new setting of Piazza Pitti, as part of Apriti Cinema, within the Estate Fiorentina program.
Seven films, premieres of short works created by young Palestinian and European authors using AI and RPG video games, a return to Looking For Oum Kulthum by Iranian artist Shirin Neshat—recently featured in a solo exhibition at PAC in Milan. The Arte Povera and its powerful contribution to the global contemporary art scene, and the dream turned reality of a builder of dreams and independent radio stations giving voice to young migrants in the film by Livorno-based directors Federico Bacci and Francesco Eppesteingher.
And, for the first time presented to the public, a production by Lo schermo dell’arte: the clever and hilarious short film created by the students of the Istituto Comprensivo Pirandello in the Isolotto district of Florence, as a result of a cinema workshop led by artists Roberto Fassone and Giacomo Raffaelli.
Notti di Mezza Estate is part of the Apriti Cinema series organized by the association Quelli dell’Alfieri, programme curated by Cinema La Compagnia – Fondazione Sistema Toscana, and with the support of the Uffizi Galleries.

All films are shown in original language, with Italian or English subtitles.
