Flowering and Fading
(Italy, 2024, 14’)
by Andro Eradze
co-produced with Fondazione In Between Art Film
Gathering winds echo through the shadowiness of a still and quiet house. The night envelops a dog and human asleep when a sudden gust knocks over a jar of honey. Its thick liquid slowly drips onto the kitchen floor and the boundaries between the imaginative and the real begin to blur. Drawing on surrealism and magical realism, Flowering and Fading resonates with Eradze’s practice in revealing an alien sense of otherness through narratives introduced in the outskirts of human habitation. An uncanny, non-human presence permeates in his works, drawing the viewer into an undefined space that simultaneously intertwines and parallels human experience, leaving one with a sense of expansive anticipation.
The film was in competition at the IFFR – International Film Festival Rotterdam 2025 and is currently part of the exhibition The Gatherers, which will be on view at MoMA PS1 until October 2025.

After Colossus
(Indonesia, Italia, Netherlands, 2024, 29′)
by Timoteus Anggawan Kusno

At the peak of the mass hysteria surrounding the killings of alleged sorcerers following the collapse of Soeharto’s authoritarian regime in 1999, a group of researchers discovered a sack of mysterious documents. Their attempts to make sense of the written reports, photographs, voice recordings, and videos from the documents reveal an army-run highly classified project under the code “Rafflesia,” where rural children were abducted, subjected to dream experiments and indoctrination. The artist retraces this story using various visual formats, creating a constant dialogue between fiction and reality.
The film was in competition at the Berlin International Film Festival 2025.
Timoteus Anggawan Kusno was also the subject of a special focus dedicated to him by the IFFR – International Film Festival Rotterdam 2025.
