The jury of the Lo Schermo dell’Arte Film Festival Prize, formed by Sandra Lischi, Gabi Scardi and Silvia Lucchesi, has awarded the 2011 Prize to Alterazioni Video, an artists’ collective formed by Paololuca Barbieri Marchi, Alberto Caffarelli, Matteo Erenbourg, Andrea Masu and Giacomo Porfiri, for their project Incompiuto siciliano. La trasformazione del reale.

The project was chosen because it deals with themes critical to the current history of our country, including the effects of real estate development on the landscape, the abandonment of major public works, their lack of use and waste of money. Once produced, the film will be premiered during the 5th edition of Lo Schermo dell’Arte Film Festival.

Andrea Masu describes Incompiuto Italiano, a central theme of his group’s work, as “A phenomenon and a style crucial for our post-war country, which need to be studied, understood and brought into focus, not only in terms of their relation to the landscape but also as a fundamental anthropological element of our national identity. We are not the artists, in this case; the work has been done by politicians, entrepreneurs, professionals and local communities. They’re the real creators of the culture of non-completion.”
