SECRET FLORENCE 2020_Cascine Edition is a big exhibition with dance and music performances open air. Lo schermo dell’arte takes part in this edition by curating the production of the video-documentary Secret Florence – Making of that will be shot by students of the Multimedia Arts and the Art History and Culture courses of Istituto Marangoni in Florence.
Thanks to the co-writing of an original script, the final video will recount the vitality of Parco delle Cascine, an area of Florence little known even to its own citizens; a park where communities of different nationalities reunites and that for the entire day of Sunday, the 13th of September 2020, will be enlivened by performances.

SECRET FLORENCE 2020_Cascine Edition is a project realised by the partners of Secret Florence: Fabbrica Europa, Lo schermo dell’arte, Musicus Concentus, Tempo Reale and Virgilio Sieni.

Lo schermo dell’arte and Istituto Marangoni Firenze present the video  SECRET FLORENCE – MAKING OF.

Manuela Cabrales (1996, Bogotá, Colombia), Léa Colombier (1996, Clermont-Ferrand, France), Alexandra Konopleva (1998, St. Petersburg, Russia), Sandy Snajnarova (1993, Bratislava, Slovakia) are the four students who directed SECRET FLORENCE – MAKING OF.

After taking part in a series of meetings with the 5 subjects which make up the network of Secret Florence – Fabbrica Europa, Lo schermo dell’arte, Musicus Concentus, Tempo Reale and Virgilio Sieni -, and with musicians and dancers protagonists of the event at Parco delle Cascine, the videomakers took theoretical classes dedicated to international case studies of storytelling in documentary, made several on site visits in the Park, and shot the video with the equipment provided by Istituto Marangoni Firenze: tripods, gimbals, go-pro cameras, video cameras and microphones.

The writing, editing and post-producing processes were followed by tutors from Istituto Marangoni Firenze and supervised by the team of Lo schermo dell’arte.

The result is a 10 minutes long video which recounts the vitality of the Cascine Park, an area of Florence little known even to its own citizens. A Park which hosts communities of different nationalities, pic-nics, basketball and soccer games, dance classes, bikers and joggers, and that for an entire day, Sunday the 13th of September 2020, was enlivened by performances of professionals invited by Secret Florence.
SECRET FLORENCE – MAKING OF gives an intergenerational and collective idea of making art. the video will be shared on social media of Lo schermo dell’arte, Istituto Marangoni Firenze and of different realities who compose the network of Secret Florence.
