Resisting the Trouble. Moving Images in Time of Crisis

After several postponements due to the sanitary emergency that has frozen the cultural activity throughout the country, on the 4th of May the exhibition Resisting the Trouble – Moving Images in Times of Crisis will open to the public. The exhibition is set up in the spaces of Manifattura Tabacchi, a former industrial complex, now the focus of a major urban renewal project, and it is open until June 4th.

Più Compagnia Virtual Theatre

Cinema Classroom ended with great success, a streaming programme of films and conversations curated by Lo schermo dell’arte, dedicated to dedicated to teachers and students of upper secondary schools of the outlaying districts of Florence and of the neighbouring municipalities of the Metropolitan Area, that involved more than 700 students and about 20 teachers for a total of 7 schools and 32 classes. The classes kept on working on films and ideas that emerged from conversations with papers, projects and research in relation both to humanistic and to scientific subjects. Project realised thanks to the contribution of Fondazione CR Firenze within the framework of “PARTECIPAZIONE CULTURALE”.

Lo schermo dell’arte takes part in FRAME TO FRAME. A (DIGITAL) WEEK DEDICATED TO EXPERIMENTAL CINEMA, organised by the Fondazione Antonio Dalle Nogare in Bolzano in occasion of the exhibition TIME OUT dedicated to the animation pioneer Robert Breer currently underway at their space.
From the 19th until the 26th of March, 2021, the Foundation will share with its public a dedicated newsletter.

Fundraising campaign until June 15, 2020
Lo schermo dell’arte is organizing a network of individuals and institutions to provide support through a fundraising campaign that will help finance the production of original video works by young Italian artists.
One hundred percent of the funds that are raised will be allocated, through a public call, to young Italian artists whose projects have been put on hold by the emergency caused by COVID-19.
