Seduto su uno sgabello al suo pianoforte verticale, l’artista è immerso nei suoi pensieri mentre una voce fuori campo racconta la storia del pianoforte a coda Steinway & Sons. Vagando sconsolato per le strade di Amsterdam, egli continua a pensare al celebre Steinway. Nella scena successiva una gru issa il grande pianoforte facendolo passare con difficoltà dalla finestra dell’angusta stanza del suo appartamento. Qui un’intera orchestra da camera accompagna l’artista nell’esecuzione del primo concerto per pianoforte di Chopin.
Guido van der Werve (1977, Papendrecht, Paesi Bassi, vive e lavora tra Amsterdam, Berlino e Hassi) si è formato alla Gerrit Rietveld Academie di Amsterdam e nel 2006 è stato residente alla Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten di Amsterdam. Nel 2008 ha partecipato all’International Studio and Curatorial Program di New York e nel 2011 è stato in residenza alla Kunstlerhaus Bethanien di Berlino.
